Sportshoes.Com Podium 5k Home International Cardiff 24th Aug
A large international field of 240 men took to a fast paced 5k around Bute Park Cardiff with the stunning Cardiff Castle in the background.
Two Northern athletes competing for Team Adidas took 1st and 3rd places – Baldvin Þór Magnusson and Matt Ramsden. Mark Bostock lead our men’s team home in a PB of 14.11 in 27th place, followed by North debutees Luca Minale in 31st in14.20, Will Tighe 80th in 15.13 and Ed Hobbs 96th in 15.27.
In a field of 74 in the ladies race Northern athlete Libby Huxley (Preston AC) finished 6th in a PB of 16min The North ladies team was lead home by Rebecca Flaherty in 27th in 16.43, followed by Kate Palfreeman-Watt 38th in 17.06, Molly Butterworth in her North debut in 40th in 17.19 and Carla Davies (women’s TM) in 42nd in 17.21.
