Saturday 25th March 2017 will see the launch of an exciting new Northern Championship event for U17 and U15 Endurance athletes.
The new 5K Road Race Championship will make its debut alongside the Men’s 12 Stage and Women’s 6 Stage Road Relays at Stanley Park, Blackpool.
Whilst a Senior 5K Championship has long been a feature of Northern events, this is the first time that such an event has been available for U17 and U15 athletes. We hope that young athletes from the North will see this as a great opportunity to post a fast time on an accurately measured and certified flat course, gain individual and team medals and finish off the winter season in style around Stanley Park. The attendance of graded Northern Athletics officials will ensure that all results will be officially approved and posted on Power of 10.
Medals will be awarded to the first three individuals and the first three teams in each of the four races (U17 Men & Women and U15 Boys & Girls). Medals will also be awarded to the first B team in each event.
The closing date for online entries will be the 22nd March but ‘on the day’ entries will also be accepted at a cost of £8 (£6 online entry prior to the race).
