Home Countries International 24th March 2018 Wollaton Park Nottingham
As mild conditions prevailed in Nottingham and conditions underfoot were firm we were set for a great days cross country racing. The North of England took 14 athletes junior and senior to compete in the
2018 HCI.
First up were our junior ladies (below), left to right, Georgia Rothwell, Juliet Downs, Claudia Cowan and Louisa Whittingham
Finishing 4th team, a great individual performance by Claudia in 5th followed home by Juliet 14th, Louisa 24th and unfortunately Georgia DNF. The North’s Scarlet Dale running for England took individual bronze.
The Junior men were up next (below) left to right Nathan Dunn, Joseph Dugdale, Joe Massingham and Hedley Hardcastle
A great team performance taking bronze behind England 1st and Scotland 2nd. A fantastic individual performance by Nathan 5th, Joseph 8th, followed by Hedley 12th and Joe Massingham 25th. Running for England the North athletes Josh Schofield took 4th and Angus McMillian 6th
The senior races were up next with our ladies (below) left to right Hannah Brown, Emma Holt and Natasha Hatswell.
Taking a great bronze in third place with a terrific performance by Natasha in 6th followed by Emma 11th and Hannah close by in 12th. The North’s own Elle Baker took first place for England.
The final race the senior men’s (below) left to right James Douglas, Robert Warner and Harry Powell took 4th team
With Robert 9th, James 14th and Harry 16th. A great performance by two Northern athletes competing for England with Carl Avery 2nd and Peter Huck 4th, wrapped up a great days competition to bring down the curtain a long and tough winter’s cross country season
