Northern Athletics are sad to hear of the sudden passing of John Mason.
The following words are taken from Chris Cohen:
I’ve just received the sad and very shocking news of the death of Jon Mason while on a site visit to Santiago, Chile as Technical Delegate for the Para Pan-American Games.
Jon was a passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic official and had only recently passed the World Athletics Silver Referee qualification.
He has given so much to our sport locally, nationally and globally and at such a young age had so much more to give.
My thoughts are with Sam and his family, as well as all his athletics friends.
